The Artisans

Our artisans are the heart of our creations. Each piece reflects generations of tradition, skill, and cultural heritage. With every Etkie purchase, you are supporting meaningful income opportunities for artisans, their families, and communities. Together we can help preserve their craft and legacy for future generations.

“Etkie allows me to have the freedom to live the life I want in my community, connected to my land and my family”
- Dru, ETKIE Beadwork artist

HOW WE WORK WITH OUR ARTISANS

At Etkie, our artisan partners quality of life is always one of our top priorities. That’s why we work to create an economic model that is built around their lives—not ours. Artisans work on their own time, in their own spaces, as much or as little as they want. Etkie provides artisans with the opportunity to earn an income that supports their families, communities, and traditional lifestyles without having to work a traditional job in Albuquerque.

Meet the Artisans

How we pay our artisans

The key to our economic model is flexibility. Our mission is to allow artists living on the reservation to remain on their land and work the hours they choose around the needs of their children, elders and community and avoid the long commute to traditional urban jobs. We are collaborative in setting the price point for their remarkable work. To demonstrate our gratitude and respect, we gift each individual artisan 6% of their annual compensation as another way to say thank you for bringing these beautiful cuffs to you, our Etkie customers.
